11 Months

Emerson is rapidly approaching his first birthday-my-oh-my, where has the time gone? He is now (in 2 days) 11 months old and full of new "tricks". He is walking many long distances- 6-8 feet at a time - and standing up from a bent over position. He is just standing still for long periods of time as well (this is how he likes to drink his milk, what a show off!). We are working on weaning from the bottle. He only drinks from a bottle during his first feeding of the day and otherwise uses a sippy cup. He has tried all kinds of new "grown up" foods like carrots, chicken, peas, potato, sweet potato, spaghetti, and many more. I have decided that we will not be buying any more baby food and Emerson will make the switch to "real" food when our current supply is exhausted. Emerson is also in the process of moving to whole milk. He is currently getting a 50/50 mix and seems to love milk! Our doctor felt that since he was such a good eater and very healthy, switching a little early would be okay for him.

Emerson is into EVERYTHING! We just never know where we will find him. In the pictures below he has hidden himself in the cabinet in our entertainment center. He was a little upset when he got in there, but I wasn't sure whether it was because he couldn't get out or because he couldn't completely get in. So, I did what all good mothers do, I grabbed the camera and started documenting the moment! Enjoy!

Emerson is also getting very good at playing by himself. He has always been able to entertain himself, but now he will play alone for 15-20 minutes alone without noticing that no one is around.

Emerson still loves tubby time! He loves to put his hand in the water as it comes out of the faucet each night. All you have to do is say that it is tubby time and head for the bathroom, Emerson takes off and will beat you there!
