Emerson was watching a thunderstorm roll in from the back door.
Emerson will be 10 months tomorrow. He has changed so much over the last month, maybe the most in any one month. He FINALLY has a tooth and is currently working on a second. Emerson is VERY active and into everything! We now keep all doors closed because Emerson was found with his hand in the toliet, not to mention unrolling the toliet paper while I was in there with him. Let's just say that he is learning the word "no" very quickly. Emerson will pull himself up on anything stationary and is cruising around using the furniture in the family room. He has found a great path from the couch to the coffee table to the entertainment center, where he throws all of the picture frames to the floor. He is able to stand for a few seconds by himself before sitting down and last night he climbed a flight of stairs on his own (Daddy was following behind). The boy has no fear. Emerson loves to talk and sing. Each morning on the way to Ms. Kim's (the sitter) he likes to sing. He can say "DaDa" and point to Chad, and is beginning to say "Dau Dau" when he sees Madeline. Sometimes it sounds like he is saying "bah" (ball) so we are working on that whenever possible. Emerson is waving hi and bye and has started pointing at things he sees. Today he was outside with his Pap (my grandfather) and was pointing at all kinds of things.
Emerson has a toy boat and plane that he and Daddy play with together. Daddy likes to use lots of sound effects and Emerson has begun to mimic those sounds. Emerson retains his play with Daddy and will make the sounds the next day when Daddy is at work. It is super cute to hear Emerson's version of his Daddy's sounds. My favorite part of this last month is snuggles. Since becoming mobile Emerson has not really been interested in snuggling with Mommy. In the last week he has started putting his head on my shoulder and letting me "hold him like a baby" for a few minutes. My heart just melts. I have a feeling that next months update, if not a posting before, will have me reporting that Emerson is walking. Check back often, you never know when it might happen!
