Friday was my dad's last day of work with the Bureau of Prisons. He has finally retired after 20+ years with the system. It is kinda sad in a way for me, dad's job was the basis of my entire childhood. The BOP was the reason that we lived so many places and did so much traveling.
Well, now Dad is on to other things. He doesn't waste any time, that's for sure! Dad leaves Tuesday to start this new sector of his life - working for a government contractor in Iraq. Yes, Iraq; just know that he has important work to do there in order for the Iraqi people to be able to take care of their own needs. He will be gone for 4 months at a time with 21 days R&R in between. We will miss him, but thanks to technology we will be able to Skype and see each other on a regular basis.
Please keep my dad (and mom too!) in your prayers as he is traveling and working in the Middle East.
